Why I resigned as bookkeeper and volunteer for PAWS
For the past seven years, I have served as the bookkeeper for PAWS. I am also an avid volunteer for the organization dating back to 2001. I did not know Shelly Butler before she arrived at PAWS but quickly realized she was there with intent and great purpose. Shelly Butler is first and foremost a champion for animal protection and ensuring quality care for them until they find safe and loving homes. Shelly’s idea of care went beyond the superficial basics, however important those may be.

This summer, the Farnsworth Art Museum (16 Museum St., Rockland) presents “Jamie Wyeth: Unsettled,” a major exhibition that traces a persistent vein of intriguing, often disconcerting, imagery over the career of renowned artist Jamie Wyeth. Organized by the Brandywine Museum of Art, this exhibition features works drawn from museums and private collections nationwide. Revealing fascinating insight into both the artist and the art of visual storytelling, “Jamie Wyeth: Unsettled” will be on view at the Farnsworth Art Museum from July 5 – Sept. 29.

Wiscasset names Chase interim CEO
Wiscasset has named George Chase interim code enforcement officer. Selectmen voted 5-0 over Zoom Wednesday night, May 15. Chase is CEO for Edgecomb, Damariscotta and Newscastle, Wiscasset Town Manager Dennis Simmons said. Wiscasset’s proposed memo of understanding with Chase noted the job is temporary and he will be paid according to the town’s February 2023 collective bargaining agreement with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW).
