I’m not a person who gets homesick easily. Since arriving in South Bend four years ago, I can tell you I’ve absolutely missed my family, but I don’t need to be physically present to still feel at home. Family visits for football games and trips home for the holidays always cured any tinge of homesickness that I would start to feel. Just a couple of days with them made me feel prepared to take on new challenges away from the comforts of my little home in Pittsburgh.
Mall increases security following weekend indoor shooting
MISHAWAKA — University Park Mall will increase security out of an abundance of caution, it said in a press release Monday, following an indoor shooting May 11. "We are committed to maintaining a strong security program that includes numerous measures in addition to staying in close collaboration with local law enforcement," a spokesperson said in the press release.
A warm, sunny weekend ahead
Scattered showers are likely this evening, peaking through 8:00 PM. A downpour and rumble of thunder is possible. Friday will be mostly cloudy with a few showers redeveloping, mostly in the later afternoon / early evening. The weekend is expected to be warm and fair, with highs in the 80s. There is the slightest chance of rain Saturday but IF it does rain, it is doubtful to have a high impact. The humidity rises next week, with a storm threat Tuesday into Wednesday.
Bremen's Luke Kincaid is triple event winner at Plymouth boys track IHSAA Sectional
Bremen junior Luke Kincaid was a triple-event winner and led the Lions to a runnerup team finish at the Plymouth IHSAA Boys Track and Field Sectional Thursday night.
