This community right-of-way and sidewalk clearing on Old Town Road between Pagnotta Drive and Old Town Road connects residents of Comsewogue and Middle Country School districts.
Suffolk DA: Two Defendants Indicted For String Of Gunpoint Robberies Across Long Island
Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney today announced that Josue Bedell, Jr., 22, of Mastic, and Christian Anderson, 24, of Shirley, were indicted on multiple counts of armed robbery and conspiracy, related to four gunpoint robberies of gas stations/convenience stores that were all hit in one night in December 2023.
Connetquot School Board Elections – Candidate Profiles
Sal Napolitano is running for one of the two open seats on the School Board for Connetquot Central School District. The five-seat board is currently under the majority of union-endorsed trustees. If either one of the two seats on Tuesday’s ballot were to flip, control of the Board would also flip in that direction.
Helping to establish kelp farms
Wendy Moore had a hand in helping Sue Wicks develop her kelp farm. She is also doing it for others. “Last fall, I drafted a slide deck explaining the infrastructure needed for processing kelp,” Moore said of her company, Lazy Point Farms. “I sent it to the oyster growers in Islip. I also sent it to growers in Brookhaven, but told those in both towns, you should share it with your local leaders so they could advocate for this. Islip Town wanted to see reliable harvests, some landing of a lot of kelp, before they committed. But Brookhaven Town started working right away with Sue.”
