Most school budgets pass; B’ville-Henderson defeated, Massena library change nixed
WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - Voters in the north country approved most school budgets Tuesday night. Belleville-Henderson was the lone budget to be defeated. There, an increase in the tax levy of 3.49 percent was proposed, higher than what the state allows, so a ‘super majority’ of 60 percent of voters is required.
Neighbors recount tense moments in Nicholville on Sunday
NICHOLVILLE, New York (WWNY) - There were some tense moments in a St. Lawrence County community on Sunday. People who live on Water Road in the hamlet of Nicholville said there was a large police presence there. Neighbors told 7 News that police told them to stay inside their homes.
