False report leads to increased law enforcement presence at University High School

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Waco Independent School District police officers on Thursday afternoon conducted a sweep of University High School.
Authorities were investigating a call that a student had been shot in a restroom, believed to be a hoax, out of an abundance of caution.
“Local law enforcement received a false report of a shooting at University High School. Law enforcement cleared the building and the normal schedule has resumed. Dismissal will occur as normal,” the school district wrote in a message to parents.
The school is located at 3201 S New Road.
