Visalia man sentenced to nearly 23 years for rape

A Visalia man was sentenced to 22 years and 8 months in prison for rape and other serious charges.

In November 2018, Andres Solis was accused of forcing a person into his home and committing a series of violent sexual assaults.

Solis was convicted of multiple charges including false imprisonment and two counts of rape.

He was also charged with dissuading a witness from reporting a crime.

Authorities say he told the victim not to report to the police and offered to pay her and her family to stay quiet.

Solis must now register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
