VISALIA, Calif. (FOX26) — A man is now behind bars after officers say he broke into a Smart & Final Saturday night in Visalia.

According to the Visalia Police Department, officers were called to Smart & Final near Center Avenue and Johnson Street around midnight.
Investigators say the suspect, identified as Michael Newbolt, 28, broke into the business through a gate after a power outage took place just several blocks away.

The Visalia Police Department says Newbolt was arrested and has been charged with burglary.
