Snow, rain, slush leave active weather alerts on 17 Utah highways
SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Multiple crashes were contributing to an already slow commute on Monday morning thanks to snow and rain that left roads with a layer of slush. The May 6 commute along the Wasatch Front was a messy one, with multiple crashes reported before 7 a.m. A problem area on northbound I-15 at Bangerter Highway in Draper forced authorities to shut down the section of freeway after a series of crashes in the area.
Person hit, killed by FrontRunner train
SALT LAKE CITY — A person was hit and killed by a FrontRunner train in a suspected suicide on Saturday, the Utah Transit Authority said. An alert was sent out by UTA at 6:32 a.m., saying riders should expect significant delays due to a "train vs. person incident." The location was not immediately available.
