ST. MARYS — In a battle of unbeatens, Williamstown defeated St. Marys 12-8 by putting up 12 unanswered in the second half. St. Marys received the opening kickoff and quickly drove into Yellowjacket territory. The Blue Devils looked primed to score until a costly fumble was recovered by William Sites of Williamstown. Big Reds prevent comeback in 3-2 win over Buck-Ups
PARKERSBURG — On Saturday afternoon at Stadium Field, the Big Reds girls soccer team took on Buckhannon-Upshur and claimed a 3-2 win. Parkersburg started the scoring early with a goal in the 7th minute from Camille Tatterson off of an assist by Chloe Gribble. It did not take long for the Big Reds to strike again. This time, the goal came from Claire Tatterson in the 13th minute, which put Parkersburg up 2-0. Claire Tatterson also made some key contributions on defense, chief among them a save on a shot on goal in which Big Red goalie Kayleigh Rexroad was out of position because she dove after the first kick of the ball. In the final minutes of the first half, neither team was able to get anything going offensively, as both squads were playing quality defense. It became a battle of the throw-ins. Parkersburg went into the half up 2-0.
