ROCKPORT — Pen Bay Medical Center welcomes Julia Hutchings-Sakaue and Chanya Elkins, third-year medical students enrolled in the Maine Track program of Tufts University School of Medicine. They will spend the next nine months rotating through the departments of Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Surgery and Family Medicine, among others.

Handgun discharged by woman inside Thomaston Walmart
THOMASTON — A handgun was discharged by a woman inside the Thomaston Walmart store on May 10. According to footage from Walmart’s security video, a woman was seen walking down one of the store’s aisles and as she reached into her purse, her handgun fired, said Thomaston Police Sgt. Chris Hansen.
Jamie Wyeth exhibition this summer
This summer, the Farnsworth Art Museum (16 Museum St., Rockland) presents “Jamie Wyeth: Unsettled,” a major exhibition that traces a persistent vein of intriguing, often disconcerting, imagery over the career of renowned artist Jamie Wyeth. Organized by the Brandywine Museum of Art, this exhibition features works drawn from museums and private collections nationwide. Revealing fascinating insight into both the artist and the art of visual storytelling, “Jamie Wyeth: Unsettled” will be on view at the Farnsworth Art Museum from July 5 – Sept. 29.
The shipyard woven into its city: 'there's always something going on in Belfast'
BELFAST -- Established in 2011, the Front Street Shipyard is woven into the fabric of Belfast in more ways than one. "We work on a lot of pleasure boats as you'll see around the yard, but we also work on some commercial boats, you'll also see the Bar Harbor whale watchers boats here, you'll see the Bowdoin from Maine Maritime, the Clark, which is a local schooner, and the Rockland fuel boat for example are all in the yard right now for various bits of work to be done," said Front Street Shipyard President J.B. Turner. "Everything that needs to be done in a boat yard we try to keep it right in-house."
