NWI RDA Issues RFQ for Engineering Services for US 12 Scenic Byway Study

The Northwest Indiana Regional Development Authority (RDA) invites qualified firms or teams to submit statements of qualifications to provide transportation, civil, and multimodal engineering services for the US 12 Scenic Byway Technical Study, to be completed by December 1, 2027. The selected engineering consultant will join an RDA-led consultant team preparing a coordinated regional framework for U.S. 12 in Lake and Porter Counties that advances lakefront access, tourism, safety, mobility, environmental stewardship, and corridor revitalization across Northwest Indiana. The study will implement the vision and recommendations of the RDA Comprehensive Strategic Plan by producing a Corridor Management Plan, an Indiana Dunes State Park Access Study, and a prioritized implementation program. The work will support an Indiana Byway Program application, position the corridor for a potential future National Scenic Byway nomination, and prepare high-priority projects for grant and capital funding, a news release said. Here is a link for more information on the Request for Qualifications (RFQ).

CTA Green and Pink Line disruptions extended again as Lake Street Bridge work continues

CTA riders face continued Green and Pink Line service changes today, Wednesday, October 28, after work on the Lake Street Bridge was delayed again. Normal train service had been expected to resume Monday, October 26, before that target shifted to 4 a.m. Wednesday. The Chicago Department of Transportation now says service is expected to return “later this week,” but has not confirmed a day or time. Meanwhile, Pink Line trains are not operating around the Loop elevated tracks. For a trip from the West Side into the Loop or farther south , riders continuing beyond Clinton must transfer to a shuttle bus, then board a train at Clark/Lake. The reverse trip requires the same connections. What Pink Line riders need to know Pink Line trains are operating between
