  • Yankees walk off Rays, Mets bullpen flounders in loss

The New York Yankees finally conquered the Tampa Bay Rays in the Bronx for the first time in 2021, walking off the win on a clutch two-run home run from Clint Frazier. They were able to scrape together three runs against the dominant Tyler Glasnow, and got six shutout innings from their bullpen to preserve the 3-3 tie into extra innings. It's their 30th win of the season, and they'll go for their first series win against Tampa Bay in today's finale. Over in Arizona, the streaking Mets finally hit a wall against the Diamondbacks, as both Edwin Diaz and Trevor May would surrender the Mets' late-game leads. Dom Smith hit his first home run since April 13th and had three RBIs in the game, but Josh Reddick's double in the 11th inning (which may have been a foul ball) got the Diamondbacks a walk-off victory by a final score of 6-5.
