While the Line Fire continues to burn over 28,000 acres on Monday night in the San Bernardino Mountains, the Bridge Fire has scorched more than 34,000 acres in the Angeles National Forest.

The Bridge Fire was first reported at 2 p.m. Sunday at East Fork Road near Glendora Mountain Road. Within a few hours, the brush fire erupted to about 800 acres, Angeles National Forest officials reported.

By Tuesday evening, CAL FIRE reported the flames has blackened more than 34,240 acres.

On Sunday night, mandatory evacuation orders were issued north of Azusa in the East Fork communities of Camp Williams Resort, and the River Community.

On Monday, the Bridge Fire in Los Angeles County moved east toward the Mt. Baldy area, partially in San Bernardino County. That same night, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department issued an evacuation order for the area of Baldy Village from the dam to Baldy Resort.

Fire activity on Tuesday afternoon was heavy in northeast portion of the fire and within the Sheep Mountain Wilderness, fire officials stated.

Firefighters continued to focus heavily on structural protection of the communities in the East Fork and preventing further fire spread to the south, Cal Fire reported.

Night-flying Quick Reaction Force helicopters on Monday began dropping fire retardant on the fire, dipping from the mobile retardant base at the Santa Fe Dam, Angeles National Forest officials said.

Multiple agencies, including the Los Angeles County Fire Department, California Highway Patrol, and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department are assisting in combating the wildfire.

The Rancho Cucamonga Fire District on Monday night took to social media to say, "There is NO fire in the city of Rancho Cucamonga," and that smoke and ash from the Line Fire and Bridge Fire are present in the city.
