The Alzheimer & Parkinson Association of Indian River County presents their popular Successful Aging Luncheon on Thursday, March 30 at noon. Held at the Vero Beach Museum of Art, 3001 Riverside Drive in Vero Beach, the luncheon will feature Olympic gold medal-winning skater and television personality Scott Hamilton. Scott is not only one of the most recognized figure skating stars in the world, he is a motivational speaker, television broadcaster, best-selling author, and humanitarian. As a cancer survivor, he is a constant reminder that with faith, fortitude and determination, anything is possible. Scott’s motto is “The only disability in life is a bad attitude,” and he will bring his eternal optimism with him to the luncheon. He will share how to live life to the fullest, how to embrace change and promote wellness as one moves through life facing challenges, obstacles and life’s milestones. Scott’s books will be available for sale, with a book signing following the luncheon. Tickets are $200 pp and proceeds from the luncheon benefit Alzheimer & Parkinson Association of Indian River County to support their numerous programs which are offered free of charge to those with memory or movement limitations and their caregivers.
