18-year-old passenger killed after speeding car hits tree in Vancouver, alcohol a 'factor'

VANCOUVER, Wash. —
An 18-year-old was killed Sunday night in a single-car crash, says the Vancouver Police Department.

Police received the report of the crash around 9 p.m. on June 4.
Officers arrived at the 3000 block of Columbia Way and found a crashed car that had hit a tree at high speeds, ejecting the 21-year-old driver. The 18-year-old passenger was deceased at the scene.
The driver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit is continuing the investigation, and states alcohol and speed are factors in the crash.
