Suspected robber killed by police outside Vancouver Safeway

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting Tuesday night outside a Vancouver Safeway, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

Police say the man ran through the parking lot at Mill Plain Boulevard and Andresen Road and shot at officers when three detectives and one Clark County Sheriff’s deputy opened fire.

Despite life-saving efforts, officers say the man – who has yet to be named – died at the scene.
