Lisa Butler with Copeland Insurance Group says this is something they see quite often in East Texas. “There’s about 20% in the state of Texas that do not have insurance and that equals about three million individuals. So quite a bit,” Butler said.

Some of the problems pedestrians have faced are gaps in the sidewalks, or no sidewalks at all. There are also parts of the city like MLK Blvd., where bus stops are in the grass and wheelchairs cannot access it because there are no ramps.

Search continues for missing Tyler man Alex Perez, 44. He's not been seen for two weeks this coming Friday. He does not have his car with him, and his mother has not heard from him, though they are very close.
