Brownsville ISD: Student arrested for school threats

BROWNSVILLE, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — A student was arrested for making a threat against a school, the Brownsville Independent School District announced.

According to a news release from BISD, a student made a threat against one of the campuses and was arrested shortly after.

The student claimed the threat was a joke, according to school officials.

“Brownsville ISD will take all threats against any campuses seriously and act necessary,” the district said in the release.

The district added it will continue prioritizing the safety and well-being of all students and staff.
