DPS identifies victim in officer-involved shooting

WESLACO, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the victim who died in an officer-involved shooting.

The man has been identified as 23-year-old, La Feria resident, Carlos Daniel Hinojos Hernandez.

According to a news release from the Texas Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 2:30 a.m. on Joe Stephens Boulevard near Sugar Sweet Avenue in Weslaco.

A man, later identified as Hernandez was pronounced dead. This is an ongoing investigation.
