Empty Seneca storefront in line to be re-habbed
The owners of 329 Main Street, Seneca, received the OK last night to go forward with changes to the front and back of the empty store building. Representing his partners, Danny Delmarco left City Hall last night with the approval of a certificate of appropriateness. The Board of Architectural Review (BOAR) gave meticulous attention to the certificate application, to be satisfied that the changes to both the front and the back of the building align with the city’s design review guidelines. The building owners as yet do not have a purpose in mind for the building, but Delmarco explained the goal at this point is to create a shell of a building that’ll suit a future tenant. He does not rule out the possibility that 329 Main can be made suitable for a couple of businesses.

Following closure of animal rescue in Woodruff, 87 cats need homes
The Spartanburg County Pet Resource Center is hoping to find homes for as many as 87 cats and kittens brought to the facility on Oct. 20. Several days earlier, county animal control officers received calls about conditions at CLiFs No Kill Shelter and Rescue at 3940 Greenpond Road in Woodruff. According to an official report, officers inspected the facility and "observed numerous animals, unsanitary livingconditions, excessive feces accumulation, and a strong ammonia odor inside a tarp-covered structure usedto house cats." They also found 70 dead animals, with remains left in freezers. Officers think some of the animals died as early as 2023. Many of the cats still living at the property were suffering from undernourishment and other medical conditions. Veterinarians at the Pet Resource Center have been providing care for the animals, said Kennedi Harris, community relations manager at the facility. She said the caregivers will determine which cats can be adopted. "A lot will be, we believe," she said. Four puppies were also taken from the property and relocated to a different shelter, Harris said. According to the report from animal control officers, Carol Ferger was operating the rescue. It was not registered as an official nonprofit. Harris said
