VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Public School District is waiting on the state to reach a decision concerning their error of over levying their Building Fund Mill Levy.

Superintendent Josh Johnson we are working with Barnes County Auditor Beth Didier and the state to reach a final resolution.

Johnson said in full transparency, the school district will repay $620,000 for over levying the Building Fund Mill Levy.

Barnes County Auditor Beth Didier informed the school district that they do not have the authority in the Build Fund to levy above 10 mills.
