Chambers Co. Sheriff’s Office IDs Valley woman hit by a train

UPDATE 8:41 p.m. The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office has released additional details about the incident, where a woman was hit by a train.

According to CCSO, the sheriff’s office received a report about a person, later identified as 41-year-old Donna Michelle Watkins from Valley, Alabama, being struck by a train around 10:48 a.m. on Thursday.

After arriving on the scene on County Road 299, CCSO says deputies found Watkins’ body lying on CXS Railroad tracks.

Watkins’ body was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy and the sheriff’s office says the incident is still under investigation.

CUSSETA, Ala. ( WRBL ) – The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said that a woman was struck by a train on Thursday.

CCSO deputies were dispatched to Cusseta to a report about a woman being hit by a train. As of now, CCSO has not released the female victim’s identity.

CCSO says investigators are still on the scene and ask locals to avoid the area.
