Rick Lee Scott was born to Robert and Dora (Ricedorff) Scott on October 5, 1946 in Valentine, NE. He passed away suddenly on February 10, 2023 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico at the age of 76.
Rick loved life and all that it offered. He invested in real estate, businesses and most importantly people during his lifetime and the world is a better place for it. Rick loved flying his airplane, playing golf, fall bird hunting and spending time on his boat fishing or just being on the water. Most of all, he loved his family and they loved him and will miss him terribly.
Rick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Burr and Eileen Ricedorff and Alex and Ida Scott; by his parents, Bob and Dora Scott; by his wife, Emily and their infant son, John.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Omaha, NE; his sister, Pam of Las Vegas, NV; and his children, Dale (Kim) Scott of Omaha, Clint (Lauren) Scott of Austin, TX, Burr (Aman) Scott of Dallas, TX and Mary Kate Scott of Omaha; his grandchildren, Cole and Cameron Scott; Dylan, Caroline and Ava Scott; Mia and Layla Scott and Courtney (Andrew) Franco; and his great-grandsons, Travis and Cooper Franco. He is also survived by two nephews, several cousins and many good friends.
A Celebration of Life event will be held this summer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Rick and sent to the Sandhills Cancer Fund Inc., 428 E. 8th St., Ainsworth, NE 69210.
