Driver goes airborne before crashing on Georgia highway

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WDEF) — A driver went airborne during a crash in Valdosta last week.

On Wednesday, the Georgia State Patrol confirmed that driver is from Tallahassee, Florida.

The video is from a body cam on Highway 84.

It shows a car driving up the ramp of a tow truck at full speed, going airborne and crashing into another car. The other car was 40 yards away.

The crash report released by the GSP said the driver was a 21-year-old woman from Tallahassee. She did survive, but obtained serious injuries.

At last check, she was hospitalized at South Georgia Medical Center.

The deputy, whose camera captured the video, was hit by debris. However, he only suffered minor injuries.

He was working another crash at the time.
