UPDATE: Westbound I-70 over Vail Pass reopens after closure of more than 4 hours for crash involving semis

12:30 p.m.UPDATE: Interstate 70 westbound over Vail Pass has reopened following a closure lasting more than four hours following a multi-vehicle accident that included at least semi-trucks. An EC alert was first issued at 8:18 a.m.

The closure led to westbound traffic being diverted at Copper Mountain to a southern route of CO 91 and US Highway 24 as an alternate route.



Traffic near the location of the crash has been diverted onto the South frontage road, but travel may be slow going. Drivers should expect delays.
