Outdoor activities being canceled due to poor air quality

UTICA, NY (WUTR./WFXV/WPNY) – The unusual smokey conditions, caused by wildfires in Canada is beginning to have an impact on Central New York beyond just an eerie color in the sky. Afterschool and evening activities are starting to be canceled.

The City of Utica has canceled all outdoor sports activities scheduled for city fields. This cancelation includes all softball and soccer games and practices.

The New Hartford Central School District has canceled all outdoor afterschool activities for Tuesday, June 6th due to the poor air quality conditions caused by wildfires in Canada.

Adirondack Central will exercise a single dismissal on Tuesday and there will be no afterschool activities.
