NYS Police arrest Utica man on Thruway

SULLIVAN, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – New York State Police arrested a Utica man on Friday, June 2 after a traffic stop in Madison County allegedly revealed a handgun and drugs.

According to New York State Police, 40-year-old Hadren Williams of Utica was stopped on I-90 in the town of Sullivan in Madison County for a vehicle and traffic violation. During an interview of Williams, police say they determined he was unlicensed and had an active arrest warrant out of Texas.

During the search, police say they found a nine-millimeter handgun with a round in the chamber, along with almost nine grams of cocaine, in the vehicle. Williams was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the State Police Station in Oneida.

Williams is currently being charged with second-degree Criminal Possession of A Weapon and fourth-degree Criminal Possession of a Narcotic Drug, both felonies. He is also being charged with being a Fugitive from Justice, an out-of-state crime.

Williams was then remanded to the Madison County Jail where he awaits arraignment. He will be held at the jail pending an out of state extradition.
