Driver arrested after fleeing on foot from Utah County deputies

A driver was arrested after officials said they drove away from a traffic stop before attempting to flee on foot.

Utah Highway Patrol officials said a trooper initiated a traffic stop on an alleged reckless driver traveling on I-15 near mile marker 217 just after 8 a.m. on Sunday.

The driver reportedly did not have a valid driver's license and their registration was revoked.

Troopers reported that the driver was speaking Spanish, and they conversed using a translator app.

Officials said the driver then became agitated and drove off.

A pursuit began, however, it was terminated due to the reckless nature of the vehicle.

Utah County deputies then located the vehicle and spiked it.

The driver fled on foot and was located before being taken into custody near mile marker 256.
