Head-on crash in northeast Missouri injures 3

NEAR UNIONVILLE, Mo. —
A Monday afternoon head-on crash in northeast Missouri sent three people to the hospital with injuries.

It happened at 12:07 p.m. on Highway 5, two miles south of Unionville, Mo.
State troopers say a car driven by Randolph Reed, 57, of Columbia, Mo., crossed the center line and struck an oncoming pickup truck.
The truck was driven by David Sheets, 40 of Marion, Iowa.
Sheets and his passenger, Anna Sheets, 72, of Toddville, Iowa, both suffered minor injuries.
They were taken by ambulance to Putnam County Memorial Hospital.
Reed suffered serious injuries. He was flown from the scene to a Des Moines hospital.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol's online crash report, all three people involved in the crash were wearing a seat belt.
