Olympia Armory Creative Campus Building Manager Valerie Roberts conducts a June 5, 2024 tour of the historic Olympia facility as it readies for transform from decades as a working military armory to a multi-use, civic arts facility. Roberts said it’s going to cost $24 million to get the building to a position where its eight arts-organization anchor partners can move into the space permanently and bring programming to people. Olympic Flight Museum Airshow, Father’s Day weekend
Members of Cascade Warbirds will be flying in and exhibiting their aircraft at the Olympic Flight Museum Airshow, Father’s Day weekend, June 15-16. These historic military planes will be featured along with a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, Curtiss P-40, Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina, and many noted airshow performers which the Olympic Flight Museum is bringing to make this year’s annual event the most exciting ever.

Two Fox Islanders who won state championships for the Gig Harbor Tides will compete in the upcoming Olympic Swim Trials in Indianapolis. Gig Harbor sophomore sensation Aiden Hammer qualified for the United State Olympic Trials in Indianapolis, set for June 15 through 23. Hammer’s goal is to compete in the 2024 Summer Olympics that begin July 26 in Paris.
