Softball Game Recap: Kelseyville Knights vs. Clear Lake Cardinals
After soaring to 13 runs the game before, Kelseyville was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They suffered a rough 11-2 loss at the hands of the Clear Lake Cardinals. Kelseyville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clear Lake apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Fort Bragg man arrested after assault in Ukiah
A Fort Bragg man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting and injuring a Ukiah man this week, the Ukiah Police Department reported. According to the UPD, officers responded to the 100 block of East Gobbi Street around 2:15 p.m. March 31 for a report of an assault involving two men.
Joe Gomes Obituary
Joe E. Gomes Joe passed away on April 3, 2024 in Ukiah. He was born in the Azores on November 26, 1955 to Reginaldo and Maria Ines Gomes. At age 6 they moved to Canada and six years later the family moved to Fort Bragg where they joined several family members. Joe had a fondness for his Azores homeland and returned several times. He loved to travel and had visited 43 states plus Mexico, Canada, and Brazil. Left to cherish his memory are the love of his life, Joan Sutcliffe, brother Jeff Gomes, sister Lisa (Rob) Davenport, extended family David (Shirley) Sutcliffe, Christine (David) Soberanis, Leslie Brooke (Jon-Paul) De Lapo, many grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He will be missed for his quiet caring ways and his sense of humor. He loved his family and was proud of his Portuguese heritage. Hopefully, he’ll meet up with Jimmy Buffett and they’ll have a grand old time up there singing and laughing. A viewing will be held on Thursday the 18th from 1-8 pm at Eversole Mortuary. Services for Joe will be at Eversole Mortuary at 10:30 am, Friday April 19, 2024.
