Earl Buschette – Obit

Earl Buschette, age 71, of Twin Valley MN, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, at the Halstad Living Center in Halstad, MN.

Earl Alois Buschette was born on July 25, 1951, in Detroit Lakes, MN, to Lawrence and Rosemary (Johnson) Buschette. Earl grew up on the family farm outside of Waubun and attended Waubun High School. After leaving school, Earl began working at the Ford Plant in the Twin Cities before enrolling(he was drafted) into the United States Army(as a truck driver). Shortly after joining, Earl met Susan Thompson and the couple was married on June 9, 1971. The couple moved around frequently while Earl was serving in the military, living in various states including Arizona and Alaska. To this marriage, three children were born: Janie, Sarah, and Earl Jr. In the late 70s, after being honorably discharged, Earl moved back home to the family farm where he made his home for most of his life. In the summer of   1981, Earl was united in marriage to Kathy Lang and the couple grew their family with three more children: Shawn, Eric, and Nickie. During this time, Earl kept busy with farming and various handyman jobs. On June 27th, 2003, Earl married Joey Brevik. Earl was able to stay on the farm until 2017 when he moved into the Wimmer Homes in Twin Valley. Shortly after, he made his home at the Twin Valley Assisted Living.

Earl was a jack of all trades. He could fix almost anything and for a short while, he ran his own plumbing business. Earl had a love for music, especially rock and roll. Over the years, he played with many bands including Dukes of Earl, Atomic Swamp, Straight Shot, and a few others. His passion for music also led him to be an audio lighting technician for the Shooting Star Casino. While assisting with concerts, Earl was able to meet many famous bands and musicians and he had an amazing collection of autographs to prove it. His musical talent also allowed him to share his gift by teaching others to play guitar, which he truly enjoyed doing. In his spare time, Earl had a “green thumb” and spent time working on his garden. Growing up in a family of mostly younger sisters, Earl loved to pick on and tease his sisters, but he always had a close connection and love for them. His feisty personality and jokey attitude will make him greatly missed by his friends and family.

Earl is survived by his children: Janie Marxen, Sarah Buschette, Earl (Rowena) Buschette, Shawn Buschette-Lang, Eric Buschette, and Nickie Buschette; 13 grandchildren: Amber, Zach, Alesha, Cody, Jacob, Cameron, Bella, Cofia, Allie, Alyssa, Cash, Kyler, Kett; two great-grandchildren, Cali Mae and Luther; brother, Kenny (Jeanie) Buschette; sisters, Lois Buschette, Sandy Soyring, Bev Buschette, Karen Anderson, and Margie (Kelvin) Krueger; and many nieces and nephews.
