Alabama third baseman Colby Shelton received his second honor of the postseason on Wednesday as the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper named him Freshman All-American.

Shelton, who was also named Freshman All-SEC, lead the Crimson Tide with 22 home runs in 2023, a new freshman record at The Capstone for a single season.

He additionally leads Alabama in slugging percentage, hitting .689, good for ninth in the SEC.

Shelton came to Alabama from Lithia, Fla., and started in 57 of the Crimson Tide's 62 games to this point in the year.

In addition to being a solid power hitter, he's also performing well in the field. The third-baseman boasts a .886 fielding percentage and hasn't committed an error since the end of April.

His 22 home runs are best on the team but even stand up amongst the SEC's best as he's fifth in the conference.

Shelton will be a key piece in Alabama's lineup as the Crimson Tide heads to Winston Salem this weekend to continue its season.

No. 16 Alabama plays No. 1 Wake Forest in the Super Regional Round of the NCAA Tournament, beginning on Saturday at 11 a.m.
