TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The road to Omaha goes through Tuscaloosa.

For the first time since 2006, Alabama baseball is one of 16 national seeds in the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship — and will host a regional at Sewell-Thomas Stadium June 2 - June 5.

The Crimson Tide is the No. 16 overall national seed. Alabama will welcome Boston College, Troy and Nicholls State to Tuscaloosa next weekend. The winner of the double-elimination bracket will advance to the Super Regionals.

Tuscaloosa Regional

  1. Alabama (40-19, 16-14 SEC)
  2. Boston College (35-18, 16-14 ACC)
  3. Troy (39-20, 18-12 SBC)
  4. Nicholls State (34-22, 15-9 SLC)

If the Crimson Tide wins the Tuscaloosa Regional, it would get the winner of the Winston-Salem Regional (No. 1 Wake Forest) in the NCAA Super Regionals.

Alabama enters the NCAA tournament at 40-19 overall and 16-14 in the SEC. The Crimson Tide finished ninth in the conference and made it to the fourth round of the 2023 SEC Baseball Tournament in Hoover for the second consecutive season.

Alabama is in the 64-team field for just the second time since 2014. The Crimson Tide was a No. 3 seed in the Ruston Regional in 2021 under former head coach Brad Bohannon.
