Alabama softball and Northwestern are out a lightning delay in Game 3 of the Tuscaloosa Super Regional.

Play is to resume at 4:52 p.m. CT, after a 15-minute warmup period.

The game is in a scoreless tie with no outs in the bottom of the third inning. Crimson Tide outfielder Kristen White holds a 1-1 count with no runners on base.

The delay was called around 3:50 p.m. and will last for at least 30 minutes. Each time lightning strikes within eight miles of Rhoads Stadium, the 30-minute timer will have to reset.

The winner of the game, which is airing on ESPN, will advance to the Women's College World Series, with the loser heading home. Northwestern spoiled the return of Montana Fouts with a 3-1 win on Friday. Alabama would force a Game 3 with a 2-1 win, behind the bat of Ashley Prange on Saturday.

Fans at Rhoads were advised to seek shelter at their own risk, while the teams moved into the clubhouse.
