Kool-Aid McKinstry training everywhere to be ready for junior season
Andrew Wevers-USA TODAY Sports

Alabama has a defensive back that is serious about wanting a national championship and first-round draft status.

Kool-Aid McKinstry , a Birmingham (Ala.) native, has been training everywhere in Birmingham to prepare for his junior season for the Crimson Tide. He is working with Coach Leonard Stephens of Step By Step Performance, Justin Woodall of All-In-One training, and he’s getting work in at Parker High School. Recently, McKinstry was in South Florida with Gold Feet Certified — crafting his speed and footwork as a defensive back. He is coming off a sophomore campaign where he had a team-high 15 pass breakups and an interception. McKinstry also made plays on special teams, earning multiple spots on All-American teams.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder is driven to be the best.

He returns as one of college football’s marquee cornerbacks in the Southeastern Conference. Nick Saban and Kevin Steele (defensive coordinator) are hopeful they have a lockdown defender in McKinstry. We will see in the upcoming fall.
