Man dies after running onto Hwy. 99 in Stanislaus County, getting hit by car
MODESTO, Calif. — A man was hit and killed by a car after trying to cross Highway 99 near Modesto Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP says the man ran from the east shoulder of Highway 99 near Hatch Road to the center median and was hit by a Volvo sedan driving northbound on 99 around 3:30 p.m.
Water rescue reported near Modesto bridge
MODESTO, Calif. — A water rescue was reportedly performed Wednesday afternoon near the bridge on Seventh Street in Modesto, according to dispatcher radio communications. Sheriff deputies and EMS were on the scene before noon. More than one person was pulled from the Tuolumne River, but their condition was unclear.
Motorcycle Crash Results in DUI
Tuolumne County, CA – A Riverbank man was arrested for DUI after crashing on Highway 49 near the Montezuma Junction. The crash happened on Friday, April 12, around 7 p.m., north of Highway 120. CHP spokesperson Officer Steve Machado details that 30-year-old Darrien Molvig was riding a 2021 Harley Davidson along with his passenger, 21-year-old Amber Caldwell of Modesto, at approximately 60 miles per hour. Machado states, “Molvig made an unsafe turning movement and caused his Harley Davidson motorcycle to overturn in the roadway.”
