Will Rogers HS senior building his own business, one snow cone at a time

TULSA, Okla. — A senior at Will Rogers High School is turning his dreams into reality.

Josh Collins started selling hot chips, candy and drinks his freshman year. He took advantage of every chance he could by selling during lunch breaks, as well as before and after school.

He decided to start selling snacks at school because he wanted to be an entrepreneur.

"Selling snacks at schools, always being an entrepreneur and always wanted to hustle outside or in school. Find a way that I can take advantage of that time and actually solve a problem. Kids are always hungry at school, so I thought, 'Hey, why don't I sell snacks?'" Collins said.

That's when Movin' Munchies made its trademark.

Growing up, Collins loved going to festivals and events, and every time, he'd get a snow cone.

During his junior year, he started researching how to create a snow cone business.

In July of 2023, he launched his first snow cone pop up at Mother Road Market.

On Friday, Collins celebrated his first time as a vendor at Vintage Market Days.

Collins said he thanks Will Rogers Alumni Eric Brown for giving him the opportunity to share his business with the community.

"He invited me to come vend here and serve snow cones. I'm excited to be here with the people, interact with the customers and be around the Kellyville community," Collins said.

Idalia Andablo, an employee at Movin' Munchies, and Diana Brown, owner of Vintage Market Days, gave Collins his flowers for being such a great example.

"I love this vision for everything, he has a really good mentality," Andablo said. "I think it's really hard to find certain people in our age group that kind of want to better themselves and make some sort of impact on the world and I think he's doing that."

"Yes, he's a very good example, he's been so good. Being here on time, setting up, doing what we ask him to do, he's just done everything that we could've asked for him to do, you would never know that he's a senior in high school," Brown added.

Collins said he's grateful to be a part of the small business world and to represent the young entrepreneurs in the Tulsa community.
