Three local throwers to compete in World Axe and Knife Throwing Championship

JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM) - Today, three 4-State throwers will compete in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the World Axe and Knife Throwing Championships.

This four-day competition will witness competitors from across the globe vying for a $60,000 prize.

Over 380 participants from 38 U.S. states, as well as representatives from Great Britain, Canada, and New Zealand, are expected to partake in the competition.

Among the local talents representing their region are Ben Fowler, Brodi Pursley, and Kinson Michel, set to showcase their skills.

Reflecting on his past experience, Ben Fowler, a participant in the championships, said, "Two years ago, I had the opportunity to compete under the lights on ESPN2. I made it to the US Open quarterfinals, so I've faced high-pressure moments in this environment before. I'll channel that energy, learn from it, and give my best shot."

The event will be held at the WeStreet Ice Center from April 18-21.

For those unable to attend in person, The Main Street Axe Company will be live streaming the action on their Facebook and Instagram pages, ensuring enthusiasts worldwide can witness the thrill of the championships firsthand.
