IRVING, Texas – The University of Tulsa's Delanie Crawford was named the American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, announced by the league Monday. It's the first Player of the Week award for the junior guard from Piedmont, Okla., who becomes the fourth Tulsa player all-time to bring home The American's top weekly award.

In Tulsa's 3-0 start to the season, Crawford averaged 21.7 points while shooting 57% from the field, 54% from 3-point range and 90% from the free throw line. She also added 12 rebounds and six assists.

In an 89-80 opening road win at Lindenwood, Crawford scored 35 points, the second-highest single-game total in program history and three points shy of the all-time TU record. She shot 56% from the field, 50% from 3-point range and 87% from the line, while grabbing 9 rebounds.

Crawford followed that with a 22-point effort in the 86-61 win against New Orleans. She added three rebounds and two steals to help Tulsa get the home-opening win. In the third game of the week against Northwestern State, Crawford only played 15 minutes due to early foul trouble and ended with 8 points and 2 assists.

Tulsa will travel across town next weekend to face Oral Roberts for the Mayor's Cup in a Saturday game that tips off at 7 p.m. All TU women's basketball games can be heard on 93.5 FM The Jet Radio.
