McAlester woman dies in Pittsburg County crash after car reportedly strikes deer

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) —
Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a woman was heading westbound on Oklahoma State Highway 31 when her vehicle crashed after striking a deer.

The crash occurred at approximately 10:56 p.m. on Tuesday in Pittsburg County.
The woman, identified as 61-year-old Glenda Gibson, was reported to have struck a deer, causing her vehicle to depart the road to the left, and continue for nearly 200 feet before striking an embankment. She was fully ejected, and her vehicle overturned and came to rest on the driver's side.
Gibson was pronounced dead at the scene by Pafford EMS and was transported to a funeral home in McAlester.
