Boulder Dash returns to Tulsa. 64 adult teams go head to head on tricycles. Don't let that fool you. Just take a look at this video behind me. You can see there are nasty crashes, obstacles, and fierce competition.
This, is Boudler Dash.
“Welcome to Boulder Dash. This is year four. Bigger and better than ever. As you can see, people are enjoying this chaos. Controlled chaos of adult trike racing", said creator of Boulder Dash, Jeremy diamond.
Boulder dash is a cut throat course for adults. Its free to spectators as they get to throw water balloons at any racer that they choose, during any time. And some participants say.
“The best event in Tulsa. Best event in Tulsa by far. Its family oriented. Everyone can do it", says participant Luis Flores.
Everyone can do it. Just as long as. You can expect a little turbulence on the course.
“I have not gone down yet. I was a pusher. But I have actually hit a few people with some water balloons and made them skid out. So pretty fun. It’s a lot of fun. Esepcially if you get some heat on the water balloons. Heck yeah", said participant Cole Ward.
And racers like Emily are laser focused to win the tournament.
“Honestly your adrenaline is pumping so fast that you don’t even notice the water balloons. Your focus is on the course. My whole suit is soaked. Everyone keeps asking me, aren’t you dying in that. Nope I feel good. I feel great", says participant Emily Heinz.
Some spectators who attended the event, even had a ball themselves. Even during our interview.
“We’re at boulder dash. We are having fun. Throwing water balloons at these racers. (water balloon thrown at kid on cam). You think you slick. You think you slick", said Jeremiah Clark.
And the person who runs this event says this year has been their biggest outcome yet.
“We go from 12 inch obstacles up to 52 inch obstacles. There are ramps. Their crazy. Yes, they are dangerous, but we have our medical staff on site. Ready to go, if anything were to happen", said Diamond.
