The Tulsa Global Alliance announces a special dedication of the Tulsa Sister Cities Directional Sign on Thursday, June 1, at 2 p.m. at McCullough Park.
The sign will display directional banners pointing in the in the compass directions towards Tulsa's eight international sister cities, with the distance between Tulsa and each city in miles and kilometers.
TGA and the City of Tulsa celebrate over 40 years of Sister City partnerships, beginning with San Luis Potosi, Mexico, and Kaohsiung, Taiwan, both starting in 1980; Beihai, China, in 1987; Tiberias, Israel, starting in 1989; Zelenograd, Russia and Utsunomiya, Japan, both starting in 1992; Celle, Germany, in 2000; and most recently, Amiens , France, in 2005.
This Directional Sign has been created with the funding from Arnie Murillo and is the fourth in several directional signs that TGA plans to install throughout the city.
