Tulsa police arrested a man Thursday morning after they say he threw a knife at officers downtown at Chapman Park near 5th and Boston.
Officers responded to the area around 11:45 a.m. for a man brandishing a knife near the fountain at the park.
When they arrived, police found Johnathan McGregor walking away from them. McGregor then stopped walking and unsheathed the knife from his waist.
Officers told him to drop the knife, but he refused. After multiple commands, one of the officers tased McGregor, but it was ineffective.
McGregor threw his knife at the officers, missing them, then felt the effects of the taser and fell to the ground.
Police arrested McGregor for assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer after former conviction of a felony, resisting arrest, obstruction, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
