Isaac Dogboe hit the scale at his lightest weight of his current featherweight campaign.

The former WBO junior featherweight titlist arrived at a shredded yet lean 124.6 pounds in a bid to become a two-division titlist. Dogboe is a sizable underdog as he faces two-time Olympic Gold medalist Robiesy Ramirez, who was 125.6 pounds ahead of their vacant WBO featherweight title fight.

An intense staredown followed Friday’s weigh-in, with the two main event participants immediately separated without any physical incident. The actual fighting part will be saved for their ESPN+ headliner Saturday evening from Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The winner will claim the belt left behind by Emanuel Navarrete, who vacated the title shortly after winning the WBO junior lightweight crown earlier this year.

Ramirez (11-1, 7KOs) aims to become the first member of the 2012 and 2016 Cuban Olympic Boxing teams—both for whom he won Gold medals—to win a major title. He enters Saturday’s contest riding an eleven-fight win streak after suffering a split decision defeat to Adan Gonzalez in his August 2019 pro debut.

The setback was avenged in their July 2020 rematch, which Ramirez won via unanimous decision. The 29-year-old Cuban southpaw—who lives in Florida and trains in Las Vegas—has stopped each of his last three opponents, all of which came in a productive 2022 campaign.

Dogboe (24-2, 15KOs) has won four in a row since back-to-back defeats to Navarrete. The first loss to the Mexican star resulted in the end of his WBO junior featherweight title reign, while his stoppage loss in their May 2019 rematch was his final fight at the weight before he opted to campaign in the 126-pound division.

In his most recent start, Ghana’s Dogboe—who now lives in England but trains in Washington D.C.—earned a ten-round, split decision victory over former title challenger Joet Gonzalez last July 23 in Hinckley, Minnesota.

Gonzalez (25-3, 15KOs) appears in Saturday’s co-feature as he faces Enrique Vivas in a scheduled ten-round featherweight contest. Both boxers were 126.2 pounds.

Glendora, California’s Gonzalez (25-3, 15KOs), 29, has lost three of his last five starts. The 28-year-old Vivas of Texcoco, Mexico rebounded from a ten-round defeat to Eduardo Baez last March 26 with an eight-round victory over Edy Valencia last August 13. Both fights took place at Resorts World Las Vegas.
