The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is looking to put an end to a serial arsonist's spree in downtown Tulsa before someone gets hurt.
So far, there have been no injuries due to the several fires set over the past week, but investigators worry it won't stay that way for long.
The ATF provided a video of the suspect lighting a bush on fire in downtown Tulsa last week. The ATF says the same suspect also set a Tulsa police truck on fire.
On Friday, the ATF announced that it is offering a $5,000 reward to the person who submits a tip that leads to the arrest of the suspect.
Since the reward was announced, several more fires have been set in downtown Tulsa.
"Right now, the ones we can specifically tie to the same person were within the last week," said Ashley Stephens, the resident agent in charge at the ATF Tulsa Field Office. "I'm certain when we go back, we've had several fires that we're currently working. My thoughts are this person is involved with that as well, we just obviously don't have the information we have like we do with the current fires that can tie it to this person."
One fire was set near a building but was extinguished before it reached the building itself.
The ATF says they do have some promising leads but are looking for more information.
