Tulsa City Councilor files open records request for text messages between other members

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) —
On Wednesday afternoon, Tulsa City Councilors Hall-Harper, Billis, and Decter-Wright received an open record request pertaining to private messages.

According to Councilor Bellis of District 4, the request was made by the city council staff on behalf of Councilor Adam Grant Miller.
Bellis says all three were immediately cooperative with the staff request from the record custodian.
"The record in Cr. Miller’s amended Open Records request for text messages between the District 1, 4 and 7 Councilors exchanged on March 22, 2023 between 11:30-11:50 a.m. are attached along with Cr. Miller’s initial request specifying 10:30-10:50 a.m. that day," Bellis said in a social media post. "The text messages exist and are now a public record per Cr. Miller’s request, also included."
