TULSA, Okla. — A Tulsa high school basketball team received new shoes, courtesy of a Greenwood retailer and anonymous donors.

The Nathan Hale High School boys basketball team is rocking some new kicks after they got the shoes from Silhouette Sneakers and Art, located at East Archer Street and North Greenwood Avenue, on Wednesday.

The shoe store said they paired up with a group of anonymous donors for the gift.

FOX23 spoke with Nathan Hale assistant coach Felix Echevarria who said they made it a surprise for the players.

"We just said we were going to go out, we we're going on a field trip, and they walked in, and of course they saw the shoes and got really excited," said Echevarria. "But once they realized they were going to get to pick them out, they just made their day for sure."

Fifteen pairs of sneakers went to the players, and another three pairs went to the coaches.
