The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says one person has died following an Ottawa County collision.

On March 21, just before 10 a.m., two vehicles were traveling on OK-10 south of Wyandotte.

A 2015 Chevrolet Cruze was driven by 22-year-old Paige Darian Martin of Grove.

A second vehicle involved in the accident was a 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by a 31-year-old Grove man.

Troopers say Martin was traveling northbound on the highway when the male driver was traveling southbound.

Martin lost control of her vehicle due to unsafe speeds and a wet roadway, causing her to cross the center line and hit the second vehicle head-on, according to OHP.

OHP reports seat belts were in use by both drivers and airbags did deploy in both vehicles during the incident.

The male driver was pinned for 15 minutes before being freed by Wyandotte Nation Fire Department.

Martin was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained.

OHP says the second driver was transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo. where he was treated and released in good condition.
