Man killed in midtown Tulsa shooting

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — Tulsa police received a call Wednesday about a shooting near East 21st Street and South Sheridan Road.

Officers found a man with a gunshot wound in his chest.

The victim was transported to a Tulsa area hospital and later died.

The suspect told police he shot his friend in self-defense and was arrested for unrelated charges.

This is the city's ninth homicide for 2023.
